Blogilates #8weekhotbody Shopping List: Week 1

Hey fellow challengers! Cassey’s #8weekhotbody challenge starts in just two days and I know a bunch of you are hitting the food stores to do your shopping this weekend.

Cassey did a great job with her shopping list, but I found it to be a little lacking that quantities were not specified and one ingredient was left off completely. :-/

So, to ensure you have exactly what you need, I’ve written up everything you need to get through the Week One’s yummy recipes!

FRUIT:

6 bananas
2 cups of blueberries
4 strawberries
3 apples
1 full pineapple (or 2 cups)
1 avacado
1 tomato (into 6 slices)
2 cartons of grape tomatoes (about 24-30 toms)
6 lemons
3 oranges

VEGGIES:

3 green bell peppers
2 red onions
2 white onions (or 1 cup chopped)
1 Romaine lettuce heart (or two leaves)
1 cucumber (or 12 slices)
1 bunch of celery (or 5 stalks)
1 head of cauliflower (or 3 cups)
1 head of cabbage (or 3 cups chopped)
3 zucchinis (or 3 cups chopped)
4 portabella mushroom caps (NOTE: you really only need two for Sunday’s dinner, but the recipe is two servings)
1 carton of alfalfa sprouts
3 cups of edamame
4 sweet potatoes

DAIRY & EGGS:

1.5 cup 1% milk
2 cartons of eggs (or 16 eggs…not including the whites…see below)
1 quart non-fat plain greek yogurt
1 half-gallon almond milk
1 carton Light Creamy Cheese Wedges (Laughing Cow)
1 package of low fat cheese slices (or two slices)
1 pint egg whites (or 9 egg whites from your carton…which seems wasteful since these are scrambled)

POULTRY:

3.75 pounds ground chicken breast
6 oz deli turkey breast
9 oz sliced chicken breast
4 oz 95/5 lean ground beef

GRAINS:

2 cartons rolled or steal cut oats (or a little more than 5 cups)
1 package whole wheat low carb tortillas (6 total)
3/4 cup quinoa

ETC.

1/2 cup raisins
1 tub natural peanut butter or almond butter (or 6 tbsp)
1 head of garlic (1.5 tbsp chopped)
1 container of vanilla whey protein powder
1/2 cup hummus
1 carton vegetable broth (total of 9 tbsp)

SPICES & SEASONINGS

1 of each listed (you should already have what you need in the pantry. They are common ingredients. And, other than the paprika, you just need a pinch here and there)
Mrs. Dash was left off the list, so be sure to add that.

And that should do it! Have fun shopping!
