Great Gift Idea for kids: Stuffies

Standard

So, I was sitting at lunch the other day when something caught my eye. The restaurant had some small TVs by the bar and I noticed a commercial for something called “Stuffies”. After watching the catchy commercial I was hooked. Maybe this is considered As Seen On TV but I think it’s awesome so who cares.

Here’s the idea. Stuffies is a cute and cuddly stuffed animal that has seven pockets hidden inside. As any child caregiver (parent, grandparent, babysitter or otherwise) knows, kids love their stuff. They always want to bring all their little toys with them everywhere they go. Stuffies allows them to do this while keeping everything neat and tidy inside a cute stuff animal.

They have 16 different animals to choose from including the usual stuff animals like bears and dogs, but also some unique options like bees and unicorns. Each Stuffie includes a storybook with a theme related to that animal. I.e. Sky, the giraffe is “always reaching for new heights.” Get it?

“We’re parents first, toymakers second. And every parent knows the challenges of teaching our children the value of a positive self-image. An image not attached to how tall we are, or how fast we can run or whether we’re having a bad hair day. Yet the outside world is so focused on just that…the outside. The programs kids watch. The music they hear. Even many of the toys they play with emphasize the unrealistic ideals of how people are supposed to look and act to be accepted,” reads the Stuffies website.

Amen to that, right?

I chose Gracie the hippo who can maintain composure in any situation for the tike in my life.

  1. HA! I just made a Pig that had a pocket in its belly for 6 baby pigs! I am sure it could easily have been used to stuff other things in there instead! Who knew there was a fad for such a toy!

What do you think?
